About me…

Hello, I am Aimée and I am a knitter, crocheter, spinner, weaver and occasional dyer from the North East of England. I have been knitting since 2010 when I found I needed a more portable hobby to replace jewellery making for when I was travelling with work.

My first project, if you can call it that, was a hat that I tried to knit out of a book in blackberry stitch - it did not go well but provided my mam with great entertainment. It was at that point she taught me the basics and set me on the road to becoming well and truly absorbed in the knitting world. One wool shop, two knitting tattoos, a podcast and much knitting later here I am today, working as a Knitting Tech Editor and Knitwear Designer.

I love to edit accessory patterns, as well as designing them, they seem to be my favourite thing to knit too! This photograph was taken moments before I walked down the aisle on my wedding day.

My work background is in Project and Programme Management so I have a really sharp eye for detail and love nothing more than a good spreadsheet or a new notebook to get me started on a new project.

In my spare time I am usually outdoors walking over hills and fells with my husband, snuggling under a blanket with our house bunny Milo or hanging upside down in an aerial silk.

I would love to find out more about you and what got your started on your knitting journey, do feel free to reach out by email at hello@knitspincake.co.uk or head over to my Instagram page @knit.spin.cake to say hi!
